Miguel is originally from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. His family migrated when he was 13 years old and settled permanently in New York City. He soon joined the George Washington Trojans Swim Team, where he qualified for the national championship in the PSAL league. Since he was 16, Miquel has also been involved in aquatics education at all levels, teaching everything from baby swim classes, adult private lessons, and water aerobics. Miguel is currently attending the BMCC and is pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
